More than 1000 families need to deliver and collect their children to and from school each day. For families that use private vehicles there are loading zones near the school for the drop off and collection of passengers. Vehicles must not wait in loading zones for longer than 2 minutes. Drivers should remain in their vehicle ready to move up in the queue.

Mornings

  • Park elsewhere if you need to walk your child into school.
  • Say goodbyes and discuss after school arrangements before leaving home so your passengers can exit quickly.
  • Children should have their belongings in the passenger area with them, ready to unload independently.
  • Move to the top of the zone before unloading. Passengers exit on the footpath side.
  • The driver should remain in the vehicle.
  • Leave the zone as soon as passengers have exited safely.

Afternoons

  • Park elsewhere if you need to leave your car to meet your student.
  • Vehicles waiting to use loading zones must not obstruct the traffic lanes, crossings or intersections.
  • If loading zones are full you MUST drive past, around the block and return.
  • Do NOT wait against the yellow line marking on the curb.
  • Arrive AFTER 3pm – vehicles must NOT wait longer than 2 minutes. Refine your arrival to be AFTER your children are likely to be waiting.
  • Join the end of the queue – do not cut into the line
  • Pay attention to the movement of vehicles ahead of you and move up safely when the queue progresses. Please do not leave gaps in the queue.
  • Children should load their belongings into the passenger area with them.
