Our guidance officer is highly qualified and experienced in her field. She provides a high level of support to staff, parents and students in a range of areas. She attends the school site three days per week to evaluate students referred via the school student services committee.
Through the application of a variety of standardised cognitive, behavioural and psychometric tests, students are assessed for further referral to community health agencies and/or Education Queensland’s specialist services (e.g. speech therapy, Autistic Spectrum disorders). Access to the guidance officer is via the Principal or Deputy Principals. Results are discussed with both school personnel concerned and the student’s parents.
