The Kids' Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Convention is an inspiring event where high capacity students complete an inquiry project. The annual event is organized and coordinated by a volunteer committee of Department of Education staff and industry partnerships. This event provides a high quality, three phase learning experience for high capacity students in STEM learning areas. The convention is held at the University of Queensland. Students work in teams to investigate a real world issue and determine a STEM solution. The teams present their findings at a celebratory competition held at the Queensland Academy of Science, Maths, Technology at Toowong.
Indooroopilly State School also offers exciting opportunities for students in Years 5 and 6 to explore Robotics and collaborate to develop skills and projects in this rapidly evolving field. Students may also work towards the opportunity to test their skills in the Premier's Robotics Challenge.
