Our highly qualified, warm, caring inclusion staff look forward to working with you to make your children’s years at Indooroopilly State School a time to look back on with pride.

Ways we support our students

  • Curriculum support in the areas of literacy and numeracy, adjustments to class units, provision of resources and modified assessment tasks and strategies for classroom use for our students.
  • Emotional and social support either individually or in a small group. Social skills such as developing friendships and coping with change can be addressed.
  • Life skills training such as road safety, cooking, looking after our bodies can all be provided if deemed necessary and appropriate.
  • Implementing fine and gross motor programs for our students who experience difficulties in these areas.
  • Parent support through collaborative planning, regular communication and/or providing information regarding external agency support.
  • Gathering and using data to effectively implement and monitor the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Assisting class teachers and parents to develop, implement and review the Education Adjustment Plan (EAP). Adjustments required for the student to maximise access to the curriculum are also listed in the IEP. This is then reviewed on a pre-determined date.
  • Managing teacher-aide support.

At Indooroopilly State School we embrace the responsibility to promote and advocate for our students in the wider school as a springboard to the wider community in their later life. We believe that we need to work as a team to provide for our students a productive happy life.
